One conversation, honest answers

Podcast Consulting

Sometimes you do not need a production company. You need somebody to tell you the truth.

Get Started

Why people call

Usually because something stalled.

The show has fourteen episodes and no listeners. Or it has not started because the format question never got settled. Or it is doing fine and the next step is unclear. None of these need a full production contract. They need an hour with someone who has already made the mistakes.

That is what this is. We look at what you have, say what we would change, and tell you which parts are actually worth paying for. Sometimes the answer is that you are doing fine and should keep going.

What we look at

The four things that usually decide it.

Format and audience

Teaching or interviewing, and who it is genuinely for. Picking wrong here is the single most common reason a show dies at episode four.

Sound and setup

What your gear is actually costing you, and the cheapest change that would fix it. Often it is mic placement, not money.

Distribution

Where the show lives, how anyone finds it, and whether the effort you are putting into promotion is going anywhere useful.

Who you are talking to

Somebody who runs a show, not a slide deck.

Jake Zufelt hosts the Irreverent Business Podcast solo, writing, recording and producing every episode. He wrote the international bestseller Digital Marketing Sucks and is a StoryBrand certified practitioner.

The advice comes from running the thing, not from reading about it. If something we recommend stopped working last quarter, we know, because it stopped working for us too.

What happens next

No retainer, no obligation.

Plenty of people take the advice and go do it themselves. That is a fine outcome and we would rather that than sell you something you did not need.

If you do want it handled, we also do full production, editing and marketing. Those exist if you want them and stay out of the way if you do not.

Questions we get
